Put a lot of thought into who is the receiver of the gift- don't buy  new roller blades for your 90-year-old Grandma.

Don't assume just because you like something they will too, although this may be the case in best friends...it's not always true.

Don't let price be the judge of your gift....i.e. I have been with this girl for 6 months I have to spend at least $200

Create a mutual understanding like, "honey lets not do big gifts for our anniversary, going somewhere nice for dinner would be perfect."

Stay clear, very clear, from giving your significant other cash or check. not cool.

 

Are dinner and a movie too clicher for first date?

  • Absolutely not! It is very standard, yes, but there is a reason for that. Dinner and a movie are perfect ice breaker plans for the first date, especially if it is a blind date.  Dinner gives you the chance to break the ice and get to know one another while the movie gives you time to share the same space without the pressure maintaining an interesting conversation.

  • Well, if you really want to sweep a gal off of her feet then you need to get a little more creative than that. However, if you are still not sure where the relationship is headed dinner and a movie is a perfect way to find out if this philly will be a friend or a lover.
